Envelopes More Important Than You Think

I know it sounds very simple. You have a letter or document you wish to mail. You open your drawer, select one of your envelopes, insert the content, seal the envelope and you are done. Whether you realize it, which envelope you choose is very important. One of the most commonly used envelope in business is the “window” type. The content of the envelope is written, and then folded, in a manner to h allow the recipient's mailing information to be seen through the window of the envelope. Using this style eliminates the need to address the envelope. Typically, these envelopes are used in mailing checks and invoices.
There are many other types of envelopes. In most cases, the name makes it's purpose obvious. For instance, there is the Air Mail and Disc envelope. You can also use a “square” envelope which is simply a generic standard version similar to the one you might use at home. You could also choose a “Booklet” envelopes commonly used for photographs, statements, brochures and booklets. There is also an Announcement envelope for mailing invitations or a Banker envelope which has a triangular tab similar to a Greeting card envelope. As you can see, there is much more to the process than just opening your drawer and grabbing an envelope. Take your time and make the right choice.
